About Me

I'm Fritz Pinnow, a German-Honduran journalist based in Honduras, covering organized crime, environmental destruction, and the resilience of communities across Central America. My work has appeared in The Guardian, BBC, VICE, and Reuters, among others.

My work has been recognized with multiple distinctions, including the SOAS Audio Visual Awards (2023) and the YouthMediaConvention Award (2022) for my coverage in Colombia (2021) and Ukraine (2022). I was selected for the Canon Student Development Programme (2023 & 2024) and won the MSF photo competition "The Other Side".

Beyond journalism, I am an Associate at the Centre for the Study of Illicit Economies, Violence, and Development (CIVAD) in London, where I contribute as a Junior Researcher and Communications Specialist.

I have led workshops at the German Armies Jugend Medien Program, Jugendpresse Presse Berlin-Brandenburg, and Youth Media Convention, focusing on journalism in conflict zones and humanitarian crises.

Also, I am a paramedic trained by the German Red Cross and (German) Army Medical Division and have received the Humanitarian Action Award from the British Red Cross.

I remain dedicated to telling the stories that need to be heard—whether through investigative reporting, documentary photography, or in-depth video storytelling.
